Welding

For Basic Welder

Joining can be considered as a method of assembly where parts made by other processes are3 joined to make more complex or larger structure, weld is the most popular mechanism in joining two metal, many of structure build by weld.
Welding has replaced riveting, bold joint, in many applications including steel structure, boiler, pump , motor, etc. This is because rivetingf is less versatile and always requires lap joint such as bold joint. The strong it will be only 85% whereas a welded joint can be as strong as the parent metal. The advantage of welding is easier to inspect and can be made gas and liquid-tight withaut the caulking which has to be done in riveted joints.
Another factor which should be considered when designing a welded structure is the effect of size on the energy absorption ability of steel.. A charpy impact specimen could show a much lower brittle-ductile transition temperature than a large welded structur made of the same material..
To being good weldments for weld several material we should follow the rule that to avoid some material or structure failure and accident, and also have to understand the basic structure of the material with heat treatment or another different behavior we took because this will change material structure, how ever structure produced by welding are monolithic and behave as one piece, this could adverselly affect the fracture behavior of the structure.
